Maclehose

Logo of the MacLehose Trailwalker, a 48-hour hiking contest covering 100 kilometers of the hilliest terrain outside of Nepal -- the New Territories of Hong Kong My second-year team at the conclusion. And nearly dead in the dead of night, too, finishing as we did in under 30 hours. Jim Soule, Dennis Rockey, Kritz, Paul Goldhorn

Supposedly, the
MacLehose Trailwalker
covers enough ups and downs
in the course of its 100 air kilometers
to equal a climb from sea level
to Everest and down again.
I don't know if that's true,
but it wouldn't surprise me a bit.

The whole Bechtel crew, first year: Sterling Brisbin, Laurice Temple, Norm Hobson, Mike Feree, Paul Goldhorn, Kritz, Jhan Schmitz, Norm Shotwell, Dennis Rockey, Sean Cuddihy, Carol Ann Rockey
The team at 3 A.M. on Shatin Pass, glassy-eyed and delirious with fatigue The Infamous "Needle Hill." Wonder why they called it that?
