Agnes of God is a mystery, or perhaps I should say A Mystery, in the sense of the medieval mystery plays
created in an attempt to evoke and perhaps explain the majesty and power of God. And yet ours is a secular age, and mysteries seldom survive
intact the careless winds of CNN, Oprah Winfrey, and the National Inquirer.
Agnes' story is ripped from the headlines, and yet is as old as Christianity itself. And the doubts expressed by our other
characters Dr. Livingstone and Mother Miriam Ruth are as profound and timeless as any expressed in a garden in Gethsemane or a quiet convent in Quebec.
I'm afraid we don't have many answers for you here tonight but Oh!, what questions . . . and real delight and wonder to be found in three incredibly powerful performances by three brave actresses.
